A lot of car owners talk about protecting the environment. However, actually doing something is rare indeed. We all love to drive our carbon-producing cars around town and to defensive driving courses, right?

That is where Fisker Auto came in. The company wanted to make an exclusive line of hybrid, plug-in vehicles for consumers around the world. At that, they have succeeded. Despite facing bankruptcy during the last economic recession, Fisker is back and stronger than ever. Founded in California, the brand is popular with the Hollywood and Silicon Valley sets.

If you are serious about lowering your carbon footprint, then an environmentally-friendly Fisker might be for you.

2012 Fisker Karma Price

You can get an original Karma for about $35,000 on the low end. Others go for up to $65,000. These prices are fairly reasonable given the savings owners can enjoy using the hybrid engine.

Of course, custom jobs can be much pricier.

2018 Fisker Prices

The 2018 Karma Revero is the first model produced by Fisker since its 2014 return to the automobile industry. These stunning models start at $130,000, making them the most expensive standard Fiskers available. Original Karma Specifics

The original Fisker Karma is a luxury sedan with a lithium battery. Drivers get an impressive 52-mpg when using the extended-range 20-kilowatt battery.

Despite being a 4-door sedan, the Karma has somewhat limited interior space. In fact, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) lists the model as a compact. This lack of space results from the battery extending down the middle of the cabin between the driver and right-side passenger.

Owning an original Karma puts you in an exclusive club. There are only 1,200 available. These beautiful cars may increase in value as collectibles, unlike most vehicles that depreciate the moment you drive them off the lot.

Fisker wanted the original Karma to be as eco-friendly as possible. For example, the interiors use reclaimed lumber.

Solar panels help maintain the cabin climate. These panels increase driving range by around five-miles per by generating extra kilowatts of battery life.

The optional plush leather seating is made from scratched cow hides that other companies left unused.

As you can see, Fisker vehicles are some of the most sustainable on the road. The company has made a point of demonstrating that our love for cars does not have to be a negative for the planet.

Justin Bieber and His Karma

If you really want to make an impression, then get yourself a “Justin Bieber” Fisker. The singer put Fisker in the tabloid news when he received a $100,000, 2012 custom Karma wrapped in chrome! Yes, this car is beyond flashy.

Unfortunately, Beverly Hills police clocked then 18-year-old Bieber driving at 80-mph, well about the legal limit.

So how did such a young celebrity wind up with such a beautiful ride? Well, he accepted the Karma as a birthday present on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

Other Celebrity Fisker Drivers

Bieber is not the only famous person to own a Fisker. Reportedly, politicians Al Gore and Colin Powell think a lot of the brand too. Actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Ashton Kutcher have been seen behind the wheel of Fisker autos, as well. In the business world, John Lasseter, of Pixar, has had a Fisker.

And, probably the best celebrity endorsement is Tyrese Gibson of “Fast and Furious” fame. He obviously knows something about cars and chose a Karma.

Fisker Today

Despite past financial problems, Fisker is stronger than ever. A Chinese auto parts company purchased the brand in 2014 and has reestablished its dominance of the hybrid market.

Fisker has multiple concept cars that they plan to unveil very soon. For the time being, consumers will be content with the all-new Karma Revero. This super car is at the top of the luxury line. Reveros sit low and come with lots of futuristic body curvature. Plus, the combined electric and gas driving range of over 300 miles is very impressive indeed.

Yes, things look bright for Fisker, and maybe you should consider getting one of these limited-edition luxury vehicles.
